One of the most healthy, powerful and life changing practices is gratitude and the best thing it’s free for everyone. When we can express gratitude on a daily basis our levels of wellbeing are enhanced and the feeling you get inside is simply truly amazing.
When people are thanked and appreciated they will work better, feel better and most likely will do the same for others. It’s a domino effect that can and will make the world a better place. We as a human species have the choice to make this happen and now is the time.
We tend to take a lot of things for granted such as or breathe, our heart pumping blood around our bodies or our feet and legs carrying us from A to B. It only takes a few seconds and surly we have a few seconds to spare in our busy days to say ‘I am grateful’ for my wonderful body and all it does for me.
We have all been given wonderful bodies ranging from small to tall and we should all be so grateful for what we receive. I myself stand at 6’ 7” and until two years ago I showed little or no gratitude for my height. I gave out that I stood out and at times I felt uncomfortable in my own frame. I finally took the power back and said from this day forward I will never give out about my height again and only give and feel gratitude for the wonderful gift god has given me.
A few years back while studying mindfulness I sent my mam and dad a gratitude card for minding me and looking after me so well throughout my time while I lived at home. They were forever grateful for the thoughtful gift and it brought tears to my mams eyes that I made the effort. It’s hard to believe a gift of gratitude something so simple can have such an effect.
Like anything in life to gain the full benefits you have to put in the practice and starting and finishing your day with gratitude is the key. I start my day with I am grateful to be part of this day to help and support each person I encounter. I finish my day with the 10 finger gratitude exercise.
I am forever gratful to all the people that have helped me on my journey from my very supporting family, friends, teachers, mentors and books.
You have the power in your words and in your writing to have a profound effect on a person’s day with gratitude, go now and make that difference. Have a great day, be kind
