Inspiration is the magic dust we look for throughout our days, to move us forward, to drive us on, to find the idea or find the key to the box we are trying to open for some time now. To see each and every day as an opportunity to inspire someone or to inspire many is a joy to behold. Some days the magical ideas flow in and some days it’s just a little harder, but fear not, put on the walking boots hit for nature and the inspiration switch ignites again.
To me time in nature is the mother of all inspiration. A recent trip to Barcelona brought this home to me. The great architect Antoni Gaudi of the majestic Sagrada Familia spent many hours in Mother Nature fine-tuning the design that stands before us today showing off its beauty. I was deeply moved as I walked inside to see a forest of tress made from stone, so majestically shaped and built to perfection. It blew me away and inspired me like nothing before.
As I sit here writing I look to many hundred books that sit on the shelves before me being very grateful for all the inspiration, ideas and personal development they have given me. Books are a must for inspiration for its one simple idea from a book that could be a life changer. Surrounding yourself with great people like teachers, coaches and mentors and particularly people of the older generation who will inspire you with their stories, their ideas which in turn will motivate you to take a step into the unknown, a step that once held you back from your true self, your true greatness.
We have to give ourselves the time to let our minds wander, to dream, to sit and meditate and let the magic dust of inspiration flow through every cell in our bodies. The ideas will come when we quieten the mind but don’t trust the mind to remember be sure to have a pen and paper at hand to write it down, otherwise that great idea could be lost forever. How many great ideas have been lost due to this?
From journaling, to quotes, to vision boards, to listening to podcasts, to visiting new places or walking on a beautiful beach taking in the majestic views we become re-energised and inspired to move forward with a pep in our step.
What inspires you each day?
