There will be many times in the year ahead where you come to a cross roads and have to make a decision on which path to take next. Some decisions will be easy to make and you move on quiet quickly, but some will be much more challenging and reaching an answer will take time. How many times do we see it in life and sport where you can see something coming to a head or a crossroads?  But rather then sorting it back the road we wait for the preverbal to hit the fan, we hit the panic button, raise the stress levels to breaking point or simply stick the head in the sand and blame someone.

We have all put things off or said ‘a sure it will be grand’ but then the inevitable happens and we reach the crossroads. Relationships break up, fallouts in the team environment occur and at times hurtful words will cause a lot of damage. Our egos can often make us plough ahead down the wrong path, where listening to the heart or the gut would have been a better option. Tracking back with our tails between or legs will always be a great eye opener and hopefully a lesson learned that will not be revisited in the future ahead.

At a crossroads we sometimes are just looking for an answer, in this situation surrounding yourself with the right people who listen, have a supporting family or being part of a mastermind group who advise and inspire is a great help. Trashing things out openly always helps but at the end of the day the final decision may sometimes come down to you. The answer lies within and going to a quiet space where you can clear the mind, like taking a stroll in nature will help tease out the answer you require. We all have this inner intelligence within us but sometimes we forget, we try to force a quick answer and end up on the wrong path.

Sometimes there is no right or wrong answer we have to take a leap of faith and see what unfolds but be mindful that changing direction might be the best option when something crops up and doesn’t sit right. In life we will be challenged with many crossroads to see how we will react to a given situation. Whatever path you take have peace of mind with your decision and when you do you can deal with anything.
