We can all relate to getting stuck in the mud when we were kids, wellies on and laughing with such joy and gratitude. As adults we also get stuck maybe not so much in the mud but in life. We can often get into a relationship, a job or a situation that might seem a good move at the start but as time goes on we become stuck and entangled in a web.

We often stay in these environments, crossing our fingers hoping things will change but how many times does it only get worse. Fear can take over and chain us to something that will erode us from the inside out if we don’t build up the courage and say ‘no more’ this isn’t me, this isn’t who I was meant to be.

I was stuck in the mud and to be quiet honest there wasn’t much laughing like when I was a child. I had a thriving business and looking in from the outside things looked really well but honestly I was lonely, tired, unhappy and looking back now hungry for something different. For six months I heard a weekly whisper from god, the universe or whatever you want to call it to change my path.

I eventually listened to the whisper, took the first step by putting my long arm up from out of the mud and asking my supporting family for help. It was fear of asking for help was the problem and sometimes shame of not being able to work it out for myself.

Fear will keep you stuck until you ask the question “How can I defeat you?” you see fear talks fast, gets up in your face and stresses you until you relinquish to do whatever it says. The key is listen and respect fear, but when you don’t do what it tells you it has no power.

We all have to take back the power so we have the strength to face life’s challenges, to get out of the toxic relationship, the energy sapping job or re-joining life’s path that is true to us.

There will be times in our future where we become stuck and frightened at what lies ahead, but with the courage of a lion and the strength of an elephant we will push through the mud and free ourselves. I am here to help you, put your arm out and be free.
