When people see the Erica’s Light logo, I hope they see more than a tree.
I hope they see the beauty of growing through every season.
I hope they see quiet strength.
I hope they see kindness.
Most of all, I hope they see a reminder that no matter what life has placed in our path, the light within us never truly disappears.
Before I share the meaning behind the logo itself, I’d like to tell you where the name Erica’s Light comes from.
The name was inspired by my daughter, Erica.
From the moment she came into this world, she has had a remarkable ability to bring light wherever she goes. Whether she’s meeting someone for the first time, spending time with family, or quietly connecting with animals, her kindness leaves a lasting impression.
Watching her grow has reminded me that kindness isn’t measured by grand gestures. More often than not, it’s found in the smallest moments—a smile, a helping hand, a listening ear, or simply making someone feel like they matter.
That is the light I see in Erica.
It is a light that has inspired me, and ultimately became the inspiration behind everything Erica’s Light represents.
Not just the stories.
Not just the clothing.
Not just the workshops or the community we hope to build.
But a belief that every single one of us can brighten someone else’s world.
That belief sits at the very heart of Erica’s Light.
The logo isn’t simply a design that represents a brand. It represents a journey—a journey of growth, resilience, hope and the quiet strength that kindness can bring into our lives.
The Tree
The tree has always held a special meaning for me.
Trees quietly witness the changing seasons. They endure storms, harsh winters, and strong winds, yet they continue to grow.
Their roots reach deep into the earth, providing strength when life becomes challenging, while their branches stretch towards the light with hope for what lies ahead.
In many ways, we’re not so different.
Life asks each of us to weather difficult seasons. We experience loss, uncertainty, and moments when we question ourselves. Yet every challenge has the potential to help us grow stronger, wiser, and more compassionate.
The tree reminds me that growth isn’t about perfection.
It’s about continuing to grow, one season at a time.
The Light
At the centre of our logo is light.
Not the kind we see with our eyes, but the light that exists within every one of us.
It’s the kindness we show others.
The courage to keep going when life feels uncertain.
The compassion we offer ourselves when we need it most.
Sometimes that light shines brightly.
Sometimes we struggle to see it at all.
But it never truly disappears.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that we don’t need to become someone else—we simply need to rediscover who we’ve always been.
The Woodland
If you’ve followed Erica’s Light from the beginning, you’ll know that the woodland is much more than the setting for the stories.
It was inspired by a magical woodland close to my home—a place where I found peace, perspective and inspiration.
When I walk beneath the trees, life seems to slow down.
The noise fades.
The mind settles.
Nature has a wonderful way of reminding us of what truly matters.
That feeling of wonder became the heartbeat of Erica’s Light.
More Than Stories
When I began writing, I wasn’t thinking about age groups or trying to fit into a particular category. I simply wanted to tell a story that felt meaningful to me—a story filled with kindness, wonder, hope and the magic that nature can awaken within us.
I’ve always believed that the best stories don’t belong to one generation.
They speak to the child discovering them for the first time…
and to the adult who may have forgotten what it feels like to see the world with wonder.
If my stories encourage a child to dream a little bigger, that’s a gift.
If they help an adult reconnect with a part of themselves they thought they’d lost, that’s just as meaningful.
Because kindness has no age limit.
Neither does hope.
Looking Forward
As Erica’s Light continues to grow, so too does its vision.
The books are only one chapter.
Our clothing carries messages that people can wear every day.
Our talks and workshops encourage kindness, resilience and connection.
And our community continues to grow around one simple belief:
