When we look back at what has shaped us throughout our lives we have to look no further than life itself. The highs, the lows, the laughter, the sadness, the people who we surround ourselves with, and the environments we put ourselves in but are we shaping ourselves in becoming the person we were put on this earth to be. As Mark Twain said “the two most important days in our lives are the day we are born and the day we find out why.”
If something isn’t shaping you in the right way you have to respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, helps you grow, or makes you happy. You owe it to yourself to chip away and find the inner diamond that we all carry inside. That inner diamond is the true you, the person you were destined to be.
We look at the recent winning European Ryder cup team and wonder what shaped this team to be such a joy to watch. It’s the belief in their own ability, the long hours honing their skills, the right caption, coaches and the right environment brought the full package together. Over a two year period they shaped themselves to work together as one and became a team that no one or nothing would stop them.
At times we are hit with a patch of struggle and hard hits but maybe it’s the universe or god telling us we are on the wrong path or in the wrong environment. When we go against the grain we are moving ourselves away from the true self and shaping a different person who we may regret in later years.
We have to endure rejection throughout our lives because when we have the ability to move on quickly from rejection and see new possibilities, we grow and reshape with renewed confidence. We have to see rejection as a new opportunity and not another failure.
It’s never too late to reshape and change from an environment of lack, unkindness and the feeling of being put down to new growth, happiness, kindness and love of life. Like a sea that shapes a beautiful cobble stone start working with the laws of the universe. When you reshape yourself you give renewed strength to others and help them become a better version of themselves. Be the light for someone and help nurture and grow them into a beautiful human being.
