As a human species what can we learn from nature? Or have we little by little grown apart from our master teacher? Today we live in a very fast paced world, we are spending more and more time in doors on screens and neglecting the connection we need with nature that rebalances our bodies, minds and souls.
If we look at how nature encapsulates patience we have to look no further than a spring bulb, it waits all year round for one magical show and then it rests, restores and waits again. We look at a caterpillar that waits for the perfect time to change into a butterfly or how a tree waits till the final frosts are gone to sprout its leaves. As humans our impatience grows, we now look to force and bend most things in life to try and match everyday demands, but at what costs?
Our bodies are in balance with the seasons, in winter we need to slow down but many times we don’t, due to the work overload ahead of us. We continue to ignore our bodies when they need rest and we now think stimulants and drugs is the answer to stay going. Our bodies are not machines, they need rest and recuperation just like nature.
In nature it is a joy to watch teamwork and leadership play out at the highest order. If you look at a pack of lions and how they work together in killing a Zebra everyone knows their place, plan of action and their desired outcome. There is no blaming each other if they miss out, only straight back into looking at the next best opportunity. We as humans can waste numerous hours often bitching, blaming and moaning instead of seeing a united team as the way forward.
Nature doesn’t try to be anything but itself. It knows its beauty, it knows itself 100% and has faith that when the time is right all it needs will come. We unfortunately live in a world of fears, lies and we are daily reminded on the news and social media we have to look and behave in a certain way. We are being manipulated and conditioned into someone that’s not true to ourselves and as we go through life we can often feel we don’t fit in because of the stranger we see in the mirror.
Nature gives us a space to unwind, re balance, think outside the box and use our imagination that enhances our production when we go back to the workplace. Nature is a place where our happiness levels increase and we connect as a team more easily. Everything is connected and once we bridge the gap again with nature or bodies and minds will flourish even in the busy world we live in.
